In the 2009 version of Trainz carriages with seats had doors that opened and closed allowing passengers to enter and exit the carriage. I don't seem to be able to find this facility in Trains 2010. Can anyone help point me in the right direction to find this application or is it indeed missing from 2010

It's not that it's missing - it's not, there are carriages with operating doors, passengers and interior views in ts2010 - it's that those features are things that an asset has to provide, not a game-wide feature that is automatic. If you used the same carriage asset as you were using in ts2009, then you'd see the same features.
Try some different carriages relevant to your intended region, and you'll probably find some that are fully featured, sooner or later.
Thanks for your advice but it's the carriages that I know to have opening doors that I can't get to. In the Assets there was an icon for doors open and doors closed along with other things like waiting periods and hornz, to mention but two. That's the icon I can't find (got one for bus doors but not carriage)

TS2010 shows the icons as an error so many assets no longer have them. This has been raised before, it makes it more difficult to pick out the assets with opening doors etc.
