Cant find any decent 2 tracks

Is it normal for there to be only 1 set of double tracks in my game? I have 2012. I want to be able to create a double line, but its hard to do when you can only place one at a time, they keep juctioning together, and getting distorted. I tried looking for a 2 track, but there only seems to be one, but its not the type I want/need.

Can anyone help me? With a name of one perhaps, so I can search it and favourite it. I want/need 2 tracks with 2012 detail, you know, with 3d track and realistic ballast. Thanks :)

I hope you know what I mean, the tracks where it creates 2 lines instead of one for you.

Hi,

I never use double track, always use single track and lay in the direction of travel, to keep an even distance between the tracks I use one of my guides. If you are having problems that tracks join, hold the 'shift' key when you click, this stops them from joining.

Okay, I know about the shift thing, I just need to get the hang of the placing distances then, thanks.

Don't place the track off in the distance, zoom in before you click to place the track, this will also stop them from joining too, if you learn to lay single track this will also help you when placing signals and speed signs, these will face in the direction the track was placed by default.

Don't forget about the track straightening tool if you see "distorted" or bent track. :)

Also get yourself a track spacing template. Search the DLS for same. There's one that has three spacings on it and I think but I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head.

Hi

First of all welcome to the forums.

For UK track spacing I lay the two tracks fairly close together and then move the spline ring until it just about touches the inside rail of the second track. If laying double track for USA spacing I just have the spline rings touching. Keep the spline rings opposite each other and place a short stretch of straightened track at each end of a curve and everything will look nice and smooth.

Thanks guys, I have it sorted out now, and I have three tracks all close together, working fine, thanks very much. All I had to do was get used to spacing them out better so they didn't junction every time I tried to lay new track.

There are 5m spacing, and 4m spacing ... the latter most closely represents US rail line spacing, such as the PRR.

I use MB Quad as a track spacing guide only, for straight a ways ... and connect those straight a ways with single track in curves.

Multi Track splines make swervies, and make whoop dee doo's when making curves using multi track splines.

I always delete the multi track straight a way, and replace them too with single track on a finished route.
