Can You Transfer 2010 Content To TS2009 ?!

i have been reading through other forums and they ask is it possible to take ts2010 content and put it in ts 2009 ?? very odd question but can it happen ?

Hi, It can be done but if you are thinking about rolling stock it can be a long process. You not only have to do some alterations to the item's config file but you have to change the config file for all the dependencies as well. Also you will probably have to change all the texture files to .tga files and write texture.txt files for them. It is much easier to transfer from a lower version to a higher version than the other way arround.

Actually as 2009 with SP4 is now compatible with 2010, yes you can.
I've just done it with the route and all the stuff including a couple of Loco's and rolling stock that I am making in 2010, just to check that as promised, you actually can without having to mess with anything.
Version number for 2009SP4 is now the same as for 2010.
If using a 2010 route in 2009 SP4, be aware that any speed trees in the route will not exist.

Only need to change things, version numbers etc, if 2009 is not patched up to SP4. Pre SP4 won't accept 2010 routes even with changing version numbers by the way.

I would say though that if you have 2010 I would leave things as they are, as excluding the speed trees and layers the two are pretty much the same thing now.
