Hi all, a little question popped into my head the other day, what was my 1st downloaded route off the DLS, and thought it was a good idea for a thread. The following screenies show mine taken from my personally updated layout of Sheffield by Captain Scarlet back in UTC / TRS2004 days. Thanks Greg, I still play on it today and it always brings back fond memories of my railway days in and around South Yorkshire.

Please post your favourites, any version, any country, steam, diesel/electric, narrow gauge, standard guage, trams, monorail, it doesn't matter. Lets bring back some old favs....

Nice idea ex-railwayman

In my case Colhad’s Devonshire County was the first here is a crash site shot on a modified version today

:) My first route?

All Amsterdam and I quote "One of the most downloaded routes on DLS".

With lots of respect to the creator jahgandree, it must have been a hell of a job to swap the DLS to find anything that has a smell of being Dutch.
Sorry after all no screens cos although I'm a Dutchie ....... what a waste.

Most of the first routes I downloaded were actually pretty poor, so I won't name them. Anyway, Westhaven was about the fourth, and it's really good, so by bending the rules of the thread a little, I present Westhaven:

Before Westhaven, I did download Haworth, which has some really good scenery, but relatively poor trackwork and several major errors (like Damems being the wrong way around, for example), so I corrected it where I felt I knew better. No screens to hand though, so here's a photo of the real thing.

I'd still recommend downloading the layout though, and I'd really recommend a visit to the real railway.

A very very very long time ago ... by tafweb ... it was a yard scenario .... can't recall the name though ...

Ish:wave:

Jan and his trainz friends have racked up nearly a quarter of a million downloads on their Dutch routes, a brilliant testament to their hard work and wonderful recreation of your country's scenery, and buildings and everything we enjoy about the railway network in Holland.

My first DLS route acquisition was Natvander's Branch Line 2C back in December 2002, and to this day remains one of the finest routes in Trainz/TRS. I have made my own modifications however over time with the newer material/content of TRS2004 and TRS2006.....though I think many Aussies have done this.

Cheers,
Simon

My First one would be Weddin by footplatephil. Just like Alan i was on dial-up and 28 hours later i was playing it :o :hehe:
It was either that or Little How.( I think i spelt it right)

My first route downloaded was:
USLW - NS Reading Lines

Others: (too many to list)

Gfisher - The Loops

Gfisher - Down East Fishing Villiage

JRFolco -Cumberland to Connellsville

Neumann - NEC (not prototypical)

UP BigBoy 4000 - Enola (dimensions totally out of scale)

DCFox - Horseshoe Curve (flaws in DEM, not detailed 1/3 Arc Data)

Fishlipsatwork - Horseshoe Curve (flaws in DEM, not detailed 1/3 Arc Data)

I remember mine, it was NWR's Barmouth to Bala, A route I became interested in years ago as Barmouth and Arthog were frequent holiday haunts and now relax by walking the line

Hmm, that must have been Clear Lake v.2. I spend a lot of time on that and in Northbay County in my early trs2006 days. :hehe:

Greetings from rainy Amsterdam,

Jan
