The cycle can't be stopped, however there are some workarounds which can stop it from getting dark if that is what you want. First there is on the DLS a surveyor tool named "driver conditions rule". This allows you to change the weather and the time of day while in Driver mode, hence you can keep changing the time to midday. The other way in surveyor bring out the World tab and you will see a time circle in the top half with green dots around it. These green dots are placed to change the lighting at the apropriate time for morning, daytime, afternoon, and nighttime. If you move all these dots as close to midnight as you can the lighting will stay as you set it except for about ten mins. before and after midnight.
