Cajon Pass

Get over it
I saw some screens from skidmark22 of this route and decided to download it. I fixed the problem area that he noted but now I have a strange occurance. If skidmark22, love that username, or even the author of the route, "roymac" can help me it would be appreciated.

If you'll notice in the screen I seem to be missing the station. Not only that but there appears to be two camp fires floating above where the station should be. I've checked CMP and have no missing items. Please tell me what I'm missing so I can fix it. Thanks.

The station is at Canmore and I just looked at the screens and they're not close enough. If you need more let me know.

I really don't know. That doesn't look like the spot that I was having the derails. I did find and fix some other track problems at other spots but don't remember now exactly where they were. I think the builder of the route will have to answer that one.

Skidmark22, go to Canmore and see which station shows up on your route. Better yet, take a screen shot for me.

Just downloaded for curiosity and the station is definitely missing , and there are two camp fires in mid air.

Not missing any station on my version.. I do remember fixing a defect in the track on the siding that serves the station platform. The track and the station were not connected there under that black thing that crosses the tracks. I had to drag the track vertice to hook up with the station vertice. Sorry if I don't know all the proper terms to use.

It IS beautiful. I love it. It could be almost anywhere in the world, though Germany, Switzerland and the US immediately spring to mind.

Skidmark22, you mention that the track and the station were connected. That's the problem that me and Stationbeem are having. We have NO station. Would you PLEASE look in your objects section and give us the name or kuid of that station. This is what I asked for at the beginning of the thread. Thank you.

Stationbeem, thank you, at least I'm not the only one seeing camp fires in the air.

The Station is: GareA petite 1 quai kuid# 2:50722:28053:2

The campfires were stragically placed to simulate smoke from the station's chimneys.

And a very innovative idea that is, I must add.:hehe:

Thank you Euphod, I guess I wasn't getting through to skidmark22. I thought that was the reason for the camp fires.

Yes, thank you again Euphod. I had found it Google but didn't have time to post until I got back from a viewing. My 31 year old neighbor from a blood clot. You never know so enjoy life every day.

Rejects

Well, now that all of that is sorted out, it is time to post some more shots from that route. Here are a few that I was thinking about entering in the weekly contest but changed my mind.

Hi Skidmark 22

I am glad you found the station you were looking for and yes, as someone pointed out, the campfires showing were put there 'hidden' to allow for smoke to exit the chimneys of the station. No other way I could think of doing it at the time!!

I don't often see images of the routes that I have created so it is nice to see someone else enjoying them other than me.

Some interesting 'historical' notes on the route I thought you might be interested in knowing. It first started out as a replica of a track plan in Model Railroad Magazine called "Cajon Pass". However, somewhere along the line I changed my mind and decided to merge it with another route I had been working on and for the longest time, I called it at first NCSRA (North Central & Southern Railroad Administration) which was too long. Then it became - MC&S - Main Central & Southern. I thought it fit better considering the mix in terrain. After a while, as I continued to add to it, I uploaded it the DLS as "Cajon Pass". I don't know why I didn't keep the name MC&S!!!

Your version is not the final one. I have since added quite a number of new baseboards to expand the route further with a section I call - Coal Mountian. An extension that consists of 11 bridges and as many tunnels on its way to a mine. If you seach the screenshots under 'roymac' you will eventually come accross some I posted of that extension. I have, over the past few years, continued to add to it mostly in the form of improvements to reflect new textures, vehicles, trees and other items such as animated people that are always being developed. I have not changed the route at all as I felt there was no need to. Below are some of my screenshots that compliment yours.

As a final note, Auran contacted me and indicated that they wanted to include the route in their upcoming TC4 (Trainz Classics 4) however, that version was never developed. It would have been nice though!!
