Got a weird logistical problem I'm mulling over here, I'm using 2 instances of Trigger Multiple Signals at a 4 track crossing 4 track junction, with something like 4 to 8 signals triggered red depending on which trigger gets tripped.
Next project is signals and triggers for bridges, got two types;
Standard double track drawbridge, used in a lot of routes, normally open and triggered to close at the approach of a train.
Lift bridge, also normally open, also triggered to close at the approach of a train, but from further away.
Ben Dorsey's Chicago Canal bridges, these are normally closed and triggered to open at the approach of a ship running on invisible track in the river.
Where the weirdness comes in, I will eventually have 3 of the normally closed - triggered to open by the ship types plus three of the normally open - triggered to close by the train types all on the same river with the ship's path going under all of them. Leaving realism aside, would it be better to use invisible signals for the ship with triggers on the bridge approaches so the ship will stop if there's a train in one of the trigger radius zones? Or do it the other way, trying to adjust everything so any train crossing a bridge will stop if the signal is red, and be across and off the bridge before the ship arrives if the signal is green? Obviously the correct way to do it is both, if a train stops on the bridge and the ship approaches he should get a red signal and stop, but I don't want to still be working on this when the Apocalypse comes, and if there's some kind of limit to Trigger Multiple Signals I suspect I would find it trying to go whole hog. Any example routes around that do this type of thing?
