Built in items

Hi All,

I have a weird problem in 2006. I have two items, one a reskin which I did my self and one a beta of a new loco, have suddenly become built in items. These two items cannot be edited or deleted. I have even tried deleting my entire local folder and replacing it with the oldest of my backups, which means I have lost some mods. I did on other items, but they still come up as built in items. Can anyone tell me how or why this should happen? Or how to correct the problem. I am beginning to think an entire deletion and reinstall might be required.

Cheers,
Bill69.

Hi Bill69,

I no longer use 2006 but instead use TC. While using 2006 and currently with TC, if you are working on an item while not connected to the internet, or if the DLS is down, CCP will not recognize you as a valid user and anything added will be considered built in. The only way I have been able to correct this is to ensure you are logged on and that it says you have access to the DLS, clone the item in question so that it shows as your kuid, then open the original for edit and you will be able to delete it. After deleting the original you will be able to commit and use the cloned item.

You are likely experiencing the same problem. Give it a try.

Hi Brian,

I have cloned the two items in question but still can't delete the originals. I can disable them but CMP will not let me delete them. I don't really have a problem with this for my reskinned loco but the beta of the new loco is a problem as it will not allow me to install a newer version which I have as a .cdp file. Whenever I try to install the newer version CMP says skipped kuidxxxxx which is a built in item.

Cheers,

Hi Bill, I don"t know if its relevant to your problem, but when I tried to make some alterations to the trackside values of some builtin signals I found I could only do it in Explorer, not CCP?

Hi lewisner,

I did use explorer not ccp. I still can't fathom what has happened. It still looks as if a complete reinstall will be required.

Cheers,
