Building farm scenery?

Hey all,

I've done quite a bit of work on my train route and I have extended it into rural farmland. I was wondering how to make farm scenery without it being too tedious?

The farm I'm working with is 2km by 2km, and the biggest wheat spline I can find is 40m. That means I have to lay down 50 wheat splines to cover the farm. Is there any wheat splines that is 100m wide or 500m wide?

Also, what is a good ground texture for the farms? Any other tips for making farm scenery that looks decent as the train rolls through it?

Farm Scenery

Kuid No:33404: on DLS.
Dmdrakes modules make Farm Scenery very easy.
And all thanks to Him it's made My Route a lot easier

When I put in that KUID in the DLS search, all I got was "fahrdraht Ax6030 uo" by a guy named Trainbernd and its in German.

That search works for me, although it pulls up a lot more than just the farm stuff. Make sure you have TRS2004 checked.

You could also try a title search for 'farm-country' (again, with TRS2004 checked).

Good luck, and share some screenshots of your finished farms :)

Look for textures for crops, sugar cane, etc. They look pretty nice for distant farm textures like crops on hills, etc. There are also some grass textures that look like wheat and can be used on the distant hills as well.
