Hi all,

i have just started to create a loco in gmax and its all gone fine except it doesn't exist on track. i can see it in my list of locos but i click on it and in the preview its invisable and doesn't appear an the track. any help would be appreciated

thanks

Well, do you have all the bits and nibbles filled in? Like bogies, and engine file and cab and all that?

I dont have a cab or anything, just a engine spec and engine sound. i have a kuid table and obsolete table, mesh table.

I'm guessing here, but if this is a first attempt, it may be too small to see or conversely too large, what scale are you using in Gmax?

I think you have to have an enginesound kuid referenced in the config.txt file.
Have you checked your loco in Content Manager for errors or for missing dependencies?
If you can't fix it, copy the contents of your loco's config.txt file and paste it in here.

????

I dont no what you mean, i just made it

In Gmax you have to set the units you are using in Customise > Units.

Need to be using metric - metres and make you models the actual size, if you use the wrong one it could be very tiny and not visible.

Ok, I change the units from us to metric and started to recreate it. i got all the texture and .txt files in the new folder and the .im. Made a new asset and looked in trainz and nothing. theres only one warning which is the no shadow mesh, which is normal.

Have you got it centred correctly in Gmax? not too low or too high or off to the left or right? Can you see it if you use Pev's mesh viewer?

Its in line, and Gmax works as i've imported loco and buildings into trainz before and look great, and yes i can see it in pevs mesh viewer.
