in ts12,the Coal to Gong Tang Power Station session,no matter how gingerly i use the controls (cab mode) i always get alot of red coupling stress warning and end up breaking a coupling.also, what do i do when i break a coupling?the session doesnt end like in a rules violation.can i fix the coupling and continue or do i just sit there.

Wondering if a rule could be written to eliminate the game stoppage, and set it up like real life so you could chain the car and thereby making it a set out or maybe a time penalty to replace the coupler.

fruk; you're not alone. There are many threads here concerning the coupler breakage, and some have suggestions on how to rectify it. I suggest a forum search on those two words.

Just sit there

Kinda reminds me of some FPS and RPG games, "You have died, do you want to reload a saved game?" Well, if that's the only other option it would probably be more fun than just laying here being dead, don't you think? :hehe:

AFAIK there's no way to fix a broken coupler or rerail a derailed train, altho that would be a fun feature. If people really want to drive default TS12 sessions and can't get past the couplers perpetually breaking, edit the session, edit the session rules, find the coupler break check rule and delete it, Save As with a new name, then play your new clone of the session. Your new session will be the same as the original except it won't check the couplers to see if there's enough stress to break a knuckle.

There is, however, one downside, if you like realism: deleting the rule takes it away. Other than that, great idea!
