.......I thought I would see what it looked like to drive a British Steam engine on my Edge County route. One has to be different every once in awhile doesn't one!!!!:D

That loco don't look British, what is it?

But hell, amazing looking route :)

..you know something Davie, it might not be British!!! :o . It is a VR N 455 - I am thinking German maybe. Perhaps someone who knows more than I, can confirm.

I do believe VR = Victoria Railway (?) which is an Australian rail company.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong ! :)

Gangsta.

The Victorian Railroad N-Class 455 is a diesel, not a steam engine. This may one of the German Reichbahn series.

e.g. that is an Australian steamer to be found on the DLS. :)

PS: roymac, very nice pictures, I'm looking forward to this map.

VR = Victorian Railways, Victoria being an Australian State.
N class used to be steam locos, but as they are now all off the register the numbers have been re-used for a class of diesel loco.
BTW VR no longer exists either, having been broken up into V/Line, Hillside, Bayside, Connex and who knows what else.

Bill.
