British Diesel locos

Hi Everyone,
I am a newbie to Trainz, I have the 2009 version. I know it is a powerful, feature packed programme, but after a couple of hour of downloading, spread over a few days, I am having trouble with the assets. They seem to download ok and install but dont show up in the game. I read on this site it was due to faults, warnings, errors or missing dependencies, but they seem to checkout ok - just dont appear in the railyard. Can anyone supply a link to a good, reliable, U.K. Diesel loco download so I can experiment and continue to explore the game.

Thanks
Boomski

There are a few diesel locos supplied with 2009, (thats what Im using). Try looking for "br class 37" etc. there is also the deltic and a couple of others listed there. As for download problems Im sure one of the more experienced will know how to help out.

@boomski, can you provide some more details? You say the assets are downloading okay. I take it you're using Content Manager to do this? If so, once your downloaded item is complete, right click on it in the download helper window and select 'view in main list'. This will show you if there are any errors associated with your download.

There will what looks like a jigsaw piece in yellow or red if there are errors. If so, you need to right click on the asset in the main window and select 'view errors or warnings'.

Take it from there.

Cheers.

To add to what pfx has said:

Yellow ! - Asset has warnings
Red ! - Asset is faulty/has errors
Yellow ? - Asset has missing dependencies (Use View Dependencies to find which one(s))
Red ? - Asset has a faulty dependency or dependencies. (Use View Dependencies to find which one(s))

Hi boomski65

Welcome to the forums. Just a thought but in surveyor click on the Main Menu (top left) and then on Options. Click on the Surveyor tab and scroll to the bottom of that screen. Make sure that the "Only display favourite content" box doesn't have a tick in it. For some reason that box is ticked by default and has caused problems for many new users. I don't have 2009 installed now but if what I have described is different in 2009 perhaps one of the others can check for you.

Regards

Brian

Thanks for the quick reply everyone, the link I was using was what looks like an excellent collection of stock. I found it by typing "obos trainz" into google. These items are right up my street as my main passion are the 80's diesel locos. They download via the download station but none of them seem to be perfect. Shame as they look good! I have tried the large logo class 50, the class 47 freightliner, Hymek and class 33 pack - all of which would not appear in the railyard.

Can anyone supply me with a tried and tested link to a quality, British diesel just to test?

Thanks again
Boomski

Using the search window in CMP (start Trainz, click on Content in the start menu), add a 'username' search filter and try entering tmz06003, uky901y, warbo40 to name but a few. tmz06003's Class 55s are absolutely fantastic.

Thanks pfx, - I will check it out. Deltics were always a favourite or mine. Sigh, the day trips from Wales to York Station when I was Knee high to a grasshopper to see them running.........those were the days.........

Well, tmz06003 has covered just about every variant of the 55s. All with lots of options too.
