Breaks in Routes

For last couple tries, I have been trying to create two way tram track route with several turns and spline point with loops at either end. Sometimes it works, I give it a test run and the tramcar runs both directions looping with no stops. I then add track markers as stops w/load passenger stops. Once these are added, I get the error "track clearance needed" and the car is stuck. I use the Mini_map to find the problem and find minor breaks between the on the route. I use insert spline point and erase the 'damaged' area and try to join two good spline points. I then expanded on the route and it blocked up with more broken points, although everything seems to work, only when magnify are these broken tracks shown. This has happen on three or four new scenarios and I believe part of the problem the route level or session level are created and once run, donot allow corrections.
Has anyone run into this problem or have ideas how to fix..

I did not use signals for the last route, but used them on the other practice routes and still had hold ups temp or full. If You suggest signaling, perhaps suggest an appropriate signal unit (kuid?) and where should I place it.
