You can go to this website and vote for how our new engines will look when they roll out. This link is also available right from the main page of the MBTA website. Voting will be closing at some point fairly soon.
I like that the T is letting us choose the paint scheme, but now that I see what this loco will probably look like, I can't hold back:
WHAT were they thinking?!?! Those things look atrocious and I even tend to like this sort of loco design (F59PHI, MP36/40, Genesis, even those odd looking F40PHMs Metra runs are all nice in my opinion). This though... well to me they look all wrong-the angles and proportions just don't look right.
With that said, I definitely respect (and hope) that some people will like these. While I couldn't hold back my opinion in here, the main point of this thread was to put this link out for any T fans who were not in "the know."
Enjoy,
tyard
EDIT: PS. I voted for option one personally. While I usually am not too traditional, that purple and black nose almost doesn't look like a T train from the front (it needs a bit of silver in my opinion). Feel free to share your votes, I'd be interested to see what people think!
