Bill Klene cleans up!

Midland

Sphenodon Punctatus

On the Port Ogden & Northern railroad an ex UP big boy backs down onto a heavy shale train on the PO&N conveyor belt.

She locks couplers nice and gently. But that's not a UP tender; it's a purpose built Centipede. And that doesn't look like Union Pacific written on the side. Let's get closer...

Whoa! Port Ogden & Northern? No way!

There it is again!

Neat! The very first bit of rollingstock customised for the Port Ogden & Northern. Looks really neat eh? Many thanks to Bill Klene (Wgkandsk) for offering his centipede tender and even more thanks for doing this art work. Bill has offered to make it available on the DLS which means not only do I get to use a genuine PO&N tender but I also get control over the coal and water for my sessions! :hehe:

I have four sessions waiting to go on the DLS (is there life on Mars?) featuring the conveyor belt part of this railroad using diesel locos and once these big boy tenders are available there will be another four sessions featuring the big boys.

It looks brilliant Bill. Many thanks for supporting this idea.

Cheers

Meanwhile on the other side of the yard...

A PO&N 0-6-0 switcher places some flatcars under the loading crane.

While the switching crew wait for the load up the big boy hops away in the background.

Hmmm --

Nix, I hope you checked with my Civil Engineer about the wooden trestles taking the weight of a Big Boy? You might have to take out a few million bucks of indemnity insurance otherwise.

I like the new tender for the little UP 0-6-0 switcher. It's a nice touch. Appreciated.
