Beta?

I got my Trainz, but today an error is saying that I have the pre-release version, and that it is expired, and that it can't be used. It says it can only be downladed via a patch! The 'Patch Trainz' button was the next thing I clicked, but now it is saying that my serial is not valid and it is unable to validate!

Thanks
:'(

Okay, I'm confused because I've never seen an error like that before. The Helpdesk is the only avenue open to those with serial number problems. When you tried to install, did you disable antivirus?

Well, I would advise uninstalling the mess you have now, then using a directory cleaner, such as CCleaner, then restarting your PC, and try to install it again.

To my knowledge the only beta they are distributing right now is the beta for 2010 MULTIPLAYER, but that requires you to already have a version of 2010 installed; could this be the problem?

Ah - they did a similar thing with TS2009.

When the beta version finished with that, users had to buy a copy of the full version in order to have a valid serial number for that version. (For users not sure what I mean there, it appears in-game on the main menu screen under News)

Please answer the question.... where did you buy 2010?

N3V (Auran) would NOT sell you a beta version.

If you did NOT buy directly from N3V.... you need to complain to the people who sold it to you.

Respectfully,

Exactly what I thought - only beta testers of TS2010 (not the Multiplayer version) should have a copy of the beta version.

If you were not a beta-tester of TS2010 when it was being beta tested (before the full version came out), then you have a potentially big problem that you would need to contact Helpdesk to sort out (be prepared to state exactly where you got it from)

OverlordNZ, the links you have posted will no longer work correctly, as they are old links (the email address for example went dead a few years ago, and I do not know if the other link still works)

Helpdesk can/should only be reached using the Helpdesk link above, where an email address can be found for users unable to log into the Helpdesk.

I do not believe that this is the only recorded case. I think that the only thing that we can do is wait for N3V to come back with an answer.

It is most likely a problem with their databases.
