Bennie Railplane (I call the big one "Bitey")

A wonderful British invention here in Scotland. The then LNER had it built over the local passenger railway to Milngavie (now an electrified route on the Glasgow Suburban (North) system. I learned about it as a boy although before my time. It didn't go very fast and was of course a very simple prototype. It was very much ahead of it's time and indeed for that more conservative period of the 1940's but many thought it was sad that nothing came of it and the thing broken up for scrap. A much longer Trainz version would certainly be fun and a challenge?!

Man, I love these behemoths! I used to have...somewhere...an old tinplate model of one of these railplanes. May need to see if I can locate it again.
