Begging to be modeled.

I love odd locomotives, and had I still Gmax on my system I'd be giving these babies a go. Whatever the case, these are all engines that are simply begging to be built.

Love the windows on this one. That's a very unique way of doing the short hood on an RS unit. Almost looks like an SW cab.

Another short hood, but not short as normal. I dunno why, but I like the way it stands.

This one is one of the new GP Rebuilds for CP. Has a rather interesting design when you look at it.

Hamerhead RS unit. The high short hood was to allow a steam generator. They were used in passenger service.

This is just a repaint job. Gotta love the patchwork style of it.

Last but not least, Southern's only NW5

TSBY RS1 #2394.

But I just cant get my head around GMax.
That and I seldom have time to even try to learn it.

Somewhere on my computer I have a reskin of that uber patched GP40, however, I can't remember if it's done or not.

That super patched GP40 would fit in with most shortlines and industrial railroads. I like that kinda thing really. Though with my short lines I'm not beyond using lines like D&RG, or SP, or whatever and just claim that the railroad never repainted it. There's protypes that do the same, so eh, why not.

Case in point is one of the donationware routes I'm finishing up. It's a city switching module designed to work with a SD9. I happen to be using one of the subpar SD's in its place. The story simply being that the railroad can't afford to repaint their units.
