Posted thread on the content creation forum.
Incidentally I now use the same method for exporting to vrml2, but nor sure if will work with obj. files with .tga textures at present.
Use at you own risk, but so far have put a range of content into Trainz, large castles, 3 x half mile sections of Liverpool docks. Drivable gaff-rig boat, etc. Up to 4 textures on 4 meshes on one object.

So those that say they are fed up with trainz you can alsways use it as an excellent file viewer for Blender made content. ;):)

Noticed the material colour shows through the UV texture so now making material colour white......Doesn't with VRML2.............. Updated about 30 of about150 or more of my blend files made over the years and some new content...Most go into trainz with no problems now with up to four meshes and 4 UV textures on each.....Just make yourself a basic scenery config, then you only need to alter the .im name, content name and kuid for each to test them in trainz, using any thumbnail 240 x 180 preview.. If it doesn't export it is usually the material colour that is the problem and redo the settings............. B
