Incidentally I now use the same method for exporting to vrml2, but nor sure if will work with obj. files with .tga textures at present.
Use at you own risk, but so far have put a range of content into Trainz, large castles, 3 x half mile sections of Liverpool docks. Drivable gaff-rig boat, etc. Up to 4 textures on 4 meshes on one object.
So those that say they are fed up with trainz you can alsways use it as an excellent file viewer for Blender made content.
