Bad rendering where water intersects with land.

Hello,
While creating rivers and lakes, where water intersects with land, water is always flickering. Especially if the river bed gradient is very low.

I'm using TRS2006 and 2009 and both have the same problem; anyone has encountered this? Thanks.

I have encountered this quite extensively on my current route. I'm using 2010. It somewhat stops if you make the transition more abrupt.

It is a 'feature' of gently sloping banks, it shows up much more in Surveyor than in Driver, so be sure to have a look at it 'in game' before taking drastic action...

I keep the ground elevation 10 meters below the water. This will eliminate flickering, make the banks steeper, and much easier to adjust.

Regards, Joe

Thanks guyz, that's exactly what I'm doing too. I was just wondering if someone could pull a rabbit out of the hat and teach me a trick I didn't know. It's a very annoying occurence, especially when using Tranzdem; I have to dig out the rivers before adding water... Oh well. :(

Hi
It must be something in your comp or how the trs is set up mine is fine. see
the screenie. trs 09

Your banks are really steep GWR, so you have a clear demarcation between water and land. The problem described in the OP is a 'feature' of all Trainz versions to date and definitely not a 'local' problem...

Andy :)
