Back up!

Hi all, I was wondering if there's a fail safe way to back up custom content ie i need to reformat my pc. I'm running 04 on vista and it has a tendency to hide folders and play silly games with folders under C/Program Files etc. I have Trainzobjectz if that helps. I have heaps of custom content and routes all of about 8 months worth of downloads and work and would be a shame to lose it.

Provided you've got enough hard disk space, make a zip file copy of the entire World folder, then burn that to DVD's. Check the DVD copy is ok before destroying the hard disk original. If you're not used to burning disks, do some tests on -RW's first.

There are many other ways, that's just what I'd personally recommend.

I back mine up on a second internal drive AND again on an external drive that is only connected to my computer and plugged in to the wall when I am actually doing backups. Perhaps a bit extreme but Florida is second in the list of world-wide places for lightening strikes (some place in Africa is #1). Me heap big chicken, lol.
