AWS not operational on trains emerging from portals

I use bloodnok's AWS system extensively on a number of routes, but have noticed that any train emerging from a portal does not activate the system. Is there any way to correct this ?

I believe the complete train needs to be clear of the portal before it will start activating anything. Peter
