Hi folks

Well, today I was working on my route when all of a sudden we get a power spike.

After going into TRS to look at the route to see if everything was still ok, I get the black window, not for missing assets, but to tell me that the map doesn't exist.

I did a save about a second before it happened, luckily I did because it was to be to my advantage.

I go to look in the route's directory through CMP, and noticed that the config file was corrupted. There was one line of text in it. Route was dead??

Thought I'd try something, I copied the 4 mapfiles into another route directory. Loaded TRS2006, and to my surprise my route was back in all it's glory.

Screenies coming soon of this new route I've started.

Sounds like you really lucked out. I get sloppy sometimes and don't backup like I should, but when I'm building a route, I try to be a little more aggressive in back-ups.
I'm glad you got it back

UPS

I am sloppy with back ups but as far as spikes are conserned I run all my stuff netwoek and all throught a UPS unit on the main computer. although this consts in the short term it has probably saved me from a lot of problems and if the power goes off i still have time to shut down.

Wow you were lucky Colhad.I save my route every day to an External Hard Drive as a CDP.I"m not smart enough about PCs to know whether that would save it from a "power spike" but I think it would!..:o

10-15 minutes...

8) In TRS2004 Surveyor, select options, save as, make sure the title is correct, overwrite, and it's saved.

In TRS2006, set options to save on the intro box, for 10 to 15 minutes, 10 if your being aggressive.

You can also set the save options for Surveyor, using CMP.

Only works with TRS2006 with SP 1:)
