Auran's LMS Coronation Payware Set

I cannot locate Coronation Coaches in red livery with striping to match the loco. While these were "before my time" (really!), I find it hard to believe they did not exist. Magandy has created a set but the red is totally different from that on the Auran locos.

I do have the blue striped coach set, Stanier PhIII set etc. ...... but where are the red striped ones??

Assuming they must be included, I have just done a new download .... but still no red striped coaches.

Ideas?

Thx. Colin.

The coaches included are :

LMS Coronation Scot - blue striped
LMS Crimson
BR Crimson and Cream

i.e there are no crimson striped LMS Coronation Scot coaches included in the pack as far as I'm aware.

Try looking into the Today tab of CMP, assuming you just installed them.

Did that ............ no red Coronation coaches. Stovepipe's response offered a rather perverse assurance that I have nothing missing in that red Coronations coaches were not included. This however raises a rather basic question - If one is trying to reproduce a historic train livery (in this case two liveries as the LMS ran both red and blue Coronation Scots), then why would a Payware package (that's the real rub!) ... a Payware package that includes red and blue locomotives...... only include blue coaches? I guess if nothing comes to light here.... there is always the Help Desk?

Regards. Colin.

Well perversely I read the information provided and came to the conclusion that striped 'red' coaches were not included.............

Where did you get the impression that there would be?

Well, I do see the crimson coaches in the advertising pics.

I assume that's the shade of red in question here. As I do not own the pack yet, I have no ipersonal experience, but it sounds like they're not showing due to a glitch.

I can offer that perhaps you need to do an Extended Database Repair. Although it's rare, I have heard of things seeming to install and not showing in CMP because although the asset files are there, it's not in the database index and, thus, can't be found.

They are in the pack, the description says "LMS Crimson". I've got the pack but also the Duchess pack so unsure which they are..

There are LMS Crimson coaches in the pack, just no LMS STRIPED crimson coaches.

Are you sure striped crimson coaches even existed in public service?

Given the era and the prestige attached to the race from London to Scotland, I find it unlikely that the LMS would provide a full rake of blue coaches to match the loco and tender, but then put a red loco and tender into the same setting but expect it pull regular Stanier PIII coaches (which would appear to be the LMS Crimson coaches referred to). Also, googling images of LMS Red Coronation does produce a few examples. Note that while paintings could be interpreted as fanciful, again one should consider the competition going on at that time and the prestige attached to the LMS and LNER XP trains.

My feelings at the moment are either 1. Something happened to the LMS during those pre-war years and the planned matching rake of coaches were never built............ or 2. Auran are a very strange operation. Bets anybody?????

Regards. Colin.

Maybe here is the answer (courtesy Google):

The second five locomotives of the class, Nos. 6225–6229, were also streamlined, but were painted in the more traditional crimson lake, with gilt horizontal lining. This was to match the standard LMS stock and a planned brand new Coronation train made up of articulated coaches. Although a prototype for this was built and exhibited in America it was never put into service due to the outbreak of war.

Regards to all. Sorry to have bothered you ......... but it was an education!

Colin.

You should receive an email providing the download link and the serial number which needs to be added to your T12 CD Key found in the Optons screen under the General tab.

Cheers
