Assets shown as 'Never' under Installation Time tab in CMP

I have quite a lot of assets in CMP which are shown as 'never' under the Installation Time tab. Two of the items I need are Fowler 4F Br Black (kuid2:4490:1016:8) and Fowler 3500 Tender BR Black (kuid2:4490:15067:7)

I have tried to search for these assets in Download Station but it comes up with 'not found'.

Are these items built in to Trainz 2006? If so I presume I'll need to rebuild the asset database or, dread the thought, reinstall Trainz.

I'm still getting to grips with Trainz so excuse me if the answer is obvious.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,

The Fowler is built into Trainz 2006 I believe.

That's what I thought.

Presumably, all I can do is re-install Trainz 2006 from my Cd and hope that this time it picks up the missing items?

Hang on before you re-install.

If these items are built-in then it is correct that they could show 'Never'. Since CMP hasn't actually installed them, they were just 'there' when it first ran.

Drop the search down to show 'Built-in' and see if those are the items in question.

Mike.

If you open one of those kuids for edit in explorer and then revert it that column date will will in with the curren time/date stamp.

Sorry I haven't got back to you before.

I haven't gone down the re-install route yet so that's ok.

At the risk of showing my ignorance, how do I drop the search down to show 'Built-in'. I've looked for this in both CMP and Download Station but can't seem to find it.

As a total beginner I'm still feeling my way around all this.

One of the action panels along the left margin of the CMP display is one titled Search. Click the little down arrow to expand it then click the box with the + sign and select Builtin to display the builtin assets. Notice to the left of Builtin is a not equal sign. Click it to display everything but the builtin items.

for what its worth, if you go look in railyard, if it shows up there at all, not just on the list but actually materializes, then its got all its peices and is fully functional. the fact of cmp saying never because it was already there seems like completely ignorable normal behavior (which i guess i'm just repeating what was just said about that).

if a loco or piece of rolling stock DOESN'T show in railyard, THEN its almost certainly missing one or more pieces. THEN its time to go looking for the missing pieces, if its one you want to use and care about.

if it isn't, then it can be disabled, deleted (if not auren built in content) or simply ignored.

there IS a ton of built in stuff that's just in the way to me that i'd like to be able to delete entirely, billboards and roads with cars driving on them particularly, (and more stuff that i wish had been built in, like all the MODERN narrow gauge PASSINGER stuff) but that's just my wierdness so i don't expect anyone to aggree with me on that.
