''Ask for RAILDRIVER STEAM FIX ''thread

Things changes but dont move in the Raildriver steam locomotive compatibility.

Raildriver was the best hardware investment a '' Train simulator'' user could have made...but that is not true anymore if you like to run a steam locomotive, because it does not work in new version of TRS 2009 and 2010. WE have been waiting for about two years (if not more) for fixes. Things dont move,or does not seems to move. In october of last year PI eng answered me they will support x64 OS by beginning of 2010. Is it done ? I dont know, but I know its not working.

Who is responsable for this ? Auran or PI eng. ? WE dont care, we want it fix. If Raildriver make simulation more enjoyable, and if Auran claim on their 2010 boxset dvd they have 1 million copy sold, what are you waiting for ? You both need one another to get things fixed and to get your customers satisfied and to get more.....cash ?.

I have adressed an email to PI Eng and I have submit a ticket to Auran.

Please do the same...and maybe ''steam'' things will move on ! :'( :'( :'(

Thanks!

I sent a heads up to raildriver tech support, they replied that they're currently working on a whole new macro keys interface that should improve all the sims responses. For Trainz 2010 what I found is that the default big steam mechanism works with raildriver, most of the other steam engine specs do not. Most diesel engine specs work, a few do not.

The stopgap I use is to find a working engine, check the dependencies in content manager for that engine, and change the other engines to use that engine spec and cabview. Difficulty is the physics, I can't tinker with those because if I clone a working engine spec, the clone doesn't respond to the raildriver throttle or reverser even before I try changing any of the numbers. Only thing we can do at this point is wait and see if the new Xkeys Macroworks improves things. Would have been nice if Auran had actually tested their engine specs with Raildriver, but I think most people drive with that DCC controller. :hehe:
