Article: Trainz, 13 and the future...

I started using Trainz 2004 and 2006 (now that's real Trainz relics there lol) and switched to Trainz 2010 this past year. Honestly I like Trainz 2010 best, and after seeing the Mojave Sub in Trainz 2012, I hope the next update will fix whatever problems that the Trainz community has encountered. Tony & N3V: Great news, keep up the good work!! We're looking forward to seeing what Trainz 2014 (guessing at the name here folks lol) will offer.

Somebody asked for Update Roule System, but, as new user, I need an Update and complete tutorial for it.

the only tutorial I've found is for 2006 version and it doesn't over all rules.

i think Roules are a very powerful tool with many options what we need to test one by one wasting time.

Same lack of detailed information is aplicable to many other issues.

It will be good when you get DX11 and a good graphics engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! still using dx 9 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As all others have stated this is all good news and glad to see that we PC freaks :D are still in the minds of your dev team i look foward to the day when my update screen in TS 12 has not got about 20 items in red that wont download for one reason or another. However as a long time trainz fan i wish to add to the congrats about these mile stones and the hard work that I know goes on in the back rooms and with the beta testing.

This is one software set that will grow as the user base grows and the content and the ideas are almost limitless with some imagination. look foward to my later years still driving the family mad with the sounds of steam blasting out of the PC as i send my "Tidy Train Set" as she who must be obeyed calls it.she suffered long years of HO and N gauge trains taking up lots of room and now it is all neat and tidy in this box on the desk.

hope there are more than one trainz fan that is shaking their heads as they read this and remembering all those nights and discussions with the lady of the house about needing to expand the layout just a few more inches to make it look right (usually we said inches but wanted feet yards or metres ) :o

All the best Becky

That is unlikely to happen, as this will mean that Windows XP users will be unable to play the game.

Perhaps, an XP DX9 mode and a DX11 mode, separately? How much longer are people hanging on to XP? This is the last month of support from Microsoft for XP... after the 18th, bye bye.

Good Evening Lrh1701
We fully support Trainz Simulator 12 with Windows 8. However, you will need to ensure that you have all Microsoft updates installed, and the latest drivers for your hardware.

Regards

I would think that TS12 is as far advanced as Trainz is going to get ... and before a new version is released, they should keep improving on TS12 SP's ... even if it takes a dozen or more SP's.

Getting like Microsoft every year or so, re-releasing a hopped up, new fangled, fancy schmancy, nice and shiney, screwed up OS is not good business.

And coding SPs and releasing them for free is good business?
