Article: Steam Summer Sale

I noticed the DLC is on sale as well. Can I buy the DLC on steam and use it with my non steam version of TS2012?

Steam content is only compatible with Steam builds. The two aren't interchangeable. If you own a product bought directly from us, this is where you will need to purchase the DLC from.

Actually, Kris, you can use Steam DLC in N3V versions. You just copy the .ja files from the Steam directories to the appropriate \N3V Games\ directory. It's the other way around, that allegedly doesn't work.

Nobody in their right mind would buy TS12 from Steam. Furthermore I would like somebody from N3V Games to explain why they are promoting a product (TS12) supplied by a company that is inferior to their own version? In their promotion I noticed N3V Games conveniently forgot to mention you cannot play multiplayer with the Steam version.

Could someone please explain how the Steam version is inferior to the N3V version? I'm not interested in the multiplayer side.

1. Some bugs haven't been fixed - yet (about to be, I hear).
2. DLC bought directly from N3V, that can only be installed as add-on, will/may not work with Steam version.
3. Multiplayer is confined to same build no. (I think - haven't tried it) - Steam's build differs from N3V's build.
4. Updates: With the N3V version you decide when to update and you deal with it, with the Steam version Steam decides and deals with it. For some this will make Steam inferior, for others it will make it superior.

That's about the size of it.

Thanks for your reply Nickie.
