ARN

Can anyone tell me how to make arn work in trainz. I have skinned a few locos and need arns on them. The locomotives I skinned already have arn files but they don't seem to work. I get an error everytime I put the loco on a track.

hey man, doesnt help, but i have the same problem.

ive given up on dependencies and such, because all the dependencies i have are outdated, and therefore need to be updated, yet my CM doesnt do anything but say server full.

if you go on tpr or uslw, there are downloads for arn packs, but i downloaded those and it said they were obsolete. im sooooo lost with this update crap.:'(

This is Frank's UP SD70M <kuid2:113556:934:1> This is my first attemp at and arn. But here is what I am going for: This is a reskin or sporbust's SD70M. The numbers on it are in the range of 4000-4400 or something close to that. I reskinned it as a BNSF SD75M. So I need the numbers to read 8200-8274. I know there are 2 diffrent paint schemes to this loco but I'll skin another one with the same mesh as a Warbonnet scheme. I skinned the HII model.

Here is the number of the SD75 that I did <kuid:289024:1133> I'm just confused on what number you are askin for so here is both of them :)

One problem with ARN in 2009 and up is the creator (Wulf9) requires the ARN icon be in the config file and appear when you select the item on the DLS. The old way (icon0, icon1, etc) is no longer acceptable in 2009 and up. I just asked on a different thread what if anything is there that is acceptable to 2009 and up and will satisfy Wulf9's requirement. No replies as yet but its only been a few minutes.

The ARN system is a little tricky to set up but does work quite well once you get the hang of it (in 2004 and I guess 2006, lol).

I'm still running 06. Will that be a problem?

Yeah the icon is there. All I did was open the loco in gimp and painted it. I didn't change anything else but for some reason I lost the running numbers. But I need to change them anyway.

I believe it's an actual error in content using Trainz-build 2.9 and later.
I know how to change that so it works in 06. Just change it to a 2.5 build and save it to a cdp. Delete the file from where ever it came from, in this case tpr, and reload the saved cdp back into the game. I have all kinds of 09 and 10 content running in 06.

I'm still getting an error even after I rewrite the numbers in ccp. But there is nothing in the script that has anything to do with the numbers. ??

AgggHHH!! This is killing me. I tried changing the numbers in the config file and tried a newly downloaded arn file from tpr and I'm still getting non fatal errors. I really don't want "painted" numbers. I am planning on an ES44C4 to but I want arn's on them.
