Anything that can be done about speedtree's abrupt "dark/light" transition line?

Speedtrees included in both TANE and TRS2019 look good, but there's one problem (probably common). The trees abruptly get brighter a medium/short distance away, and it's a pretty noticeable line at a fixed distance from the camera. (My suspicion is a badly designed lod change that didn't take shadows into account.) Is there anything that can improve that with the built in trees? I've got a really high end computer, and currently have shadows on high and tree detail on ultra. If (as I suspect) there's nothing you can do about it, does anybody know of where to get different trees? Pofig and MNN don't have what I'm looking for, and JVC trees isn't up any more (and all queries sent to any contact email haven't gotten a response.) (If somebody would be willing to share JVC's stuff, especially Rocky/western mountain stuff...) Is that all the trees there are? Thanks.
 
BTW, I didn't re-read the thread but either in that thread or in another Jankvis explains that he was able to make Speedtrees by using N3V's Speedtrees license for the Creator software. The terms of that license have changed and N3V can no longer share the software with 3rd party creators, Hence, outside of N3V employees, no one can make changes to the old Speedtrees. However, N3V has moved on to using new software which is available for free to anyone. See the link near the end of the thread.

Would changing any of the settings, or adding another ~22 GB of RAM help? (~60-70% increase)
Adding RAM will help a lot of things but not necessarily this issue. Changing the tree detail and graphics details upwards from normal to high helps with this. Be aware of the increased system load, heat, and performance hit. Give it a try and see what happens.

(Background/massive Firefox session often uses up about ~30% CPU BTW.) What settings affect it? Currently it’s:
Shadows: high
Shadow resolution: 4096
Texture detail: high
Post processing: low
Water: ultra
Antialiasing: 8x (entirely for the water.) (would turning this down help? Seems it’d be one of the biggest things.)
Detail update rate: low
Multiple render threads, texture streaming and process objects behind camera checked.
PhisX simulation just made smoke not emit from the right places if the attachment points were inside the “bounding box,” so off.

In game, draw distance set to 3000 m (mostly since the 4 baseboard route “building pallet” with everything I might want to use crammed onto it had a copy merged a couple baseboards away from one end of where I’m working, (which is it’s intended use), and with everything running in the background on a normal route building day as little as 16 GB of RAM is free (I do my daily stuff/internet on this computer as well).- my current computer with no major programs running in the background runs Rollins Pass Winter (the new one) at 8 km smooth as glass.)

Wound adjusting antialiasing/draw distance/post processing help? (And letting TANE have the RAM and CPU all to itself.) And is there anything in the speed tree config file that could be edited to makes LoD changes happen farther from the camera? (And eat the performance hit.)
 
Try increasing your Post Processing, but other than that my settings are the same for Trainz Plus (TRS22 version).

There's no way to adjust the LOD for the Speed Trees unfortunately. Eventually, Speed Trees will be going away but that won't be the case with T:ANE which is now considered an older product. When we will see the new trees is anyone's guess.
 
I believe the Coal Country HDT route available for Trainz Plus beta is using some of them. No one at N3V will confirm or deny. It certainly has some of the best looking trees I've ever seen.
I saw those and I wasn't sure. I need to take a look at them again when I have time.
