Anyone have any plans of colliery br

Here since 2001, Trainz!!
Anyone have any plans of colliery branchlines?

Hi,

I'm trying to do a bit of research on colliery branches for my loosely 60's UK route.

Any plans or useful links would be appreiciated, or even any trainz routes/layouts to give some inspiration.
especially looking at how to connect the branch to a mainline branch and if there would be sidings where wagons would be dropped off to be picked up by other trains or if trains would go straight to the colliery and out again.

Thanks
David

David,

I have about a dozen NER colliery plans from around 1890-1920 - just PM your email address and I'll send them over.

regards
Charles

I also have a number of plans which I have used for my Sunderland route and I could have a go at scanning the exchange yards at Fencehouses and Penshaw for you.
Also have a look at the Durham Mining Museum http://www.dmm.org.uk/mindex.htm
and click on "Galleries" for useful photos.

Thanks for the site! that is very useful and interesting :).

What i'm having trouble with is the exchange sidings that would be next to a mainline for picking up and dropping off. If anyone has any examples of this or i'm missing something on that site i'd appreciate a point in the right direction :)

At Fencehouses there was an exchange yard between the 2 track Leamside Line and the 2 track NCB line.I can scan it if you tell me where to send it.

Here's a shot of the yard looking north, NCB on the left, Leamside right.
