Hello People,
Being a frequent user of the Trainz forum, and seeing this prototype part of it here makes me start a little search for info through this forum rather then go hunt the Internet.
I did hunt the Internet a little yesterday, but got frustrated and decided to leave it for another day.
The background for my hunt of info for the Oregon Short Line is not what you might think, I have really no interest in this railroad at all.
BUT, I have a few pictures related to this railroad in my collection that I would like to get placed in correct place - and hopefully also find a good home for, as I don't need them.
They got sold me with a batch of other images, most of places I don't know (most is not good quality) and was sold as being from the Cripple creek District - most of them was not... :'(
There are I think 5 or 6 directly related to the OSL as I can see that marking on some of the railcars - then there are a few more of structures in a town with a street railways in front.
Hilly, seem to be a mining area in some, and rather nice looking stone/brick buildings in others.
I've yet to scan this images, so I can't show any pictures as for now.
I'm tempted to believe the OSL images are from the area around Anaconda, Montana due to there being a Anaconda in the Cripple Creek District too, but when trying to find images yesterday showing the railroad around this places from long time I didn't strike gold at all.
* The railroad based image shows a depot or station in brick (B&W images) with a bay window and no names or anything showing on the structure except a hopper car with the markings OSL at the end in front of if.
* Another image seem to be a closeup of this bay window, with a man in front of it.
* Then there are 3 or 4 showing what is either a grain or mining type of a elevator/large ore bin with long chutes dropping down into more OSL hopper cars - one of them having the name of Oregon Short Line written on its side.
The structure it self is a massive large multistory one, going out in three direction, the one 90 degree on the track seem to be an open shed like structure.
Any interest or help in pointing me towards a place I might contact to see if they can help with info, or want to help giving this images a good home?
If needed, I can scan the images and post a link to it from my website, but being a some job I would hate doing it just "for the fun of it" as I'm doing already a massive scanning and saving job of the Cripple Creek and the rest of the unknown but maybe Cripple Creek or general mining interested pictures - most of them rather faded and bad looking.
Hence, serious interest only please.
Thank you, hope this is not a to unfitting message to post in this forum?
Best wishes
Linda
