Got a few ATSF steamers on my website, with a few more in the wings. The ATSF 3000 class and 1050 class are next to be released.

This forum is a nest of UP fans... :p. Everybody is looking for Big Boys and Challengers and nobody look at the 5000 series....

It's a joke... There's a lot of ATSF fans here. Have a look at the many messages on this direction.

Thats not entirely true, I'm still here

I called up the ATSF fan roundup cuz I need to know something. What ATSF lines ran out of Cleburne, TX? I have been interested into doing an ATSF line out of Cleburne. If I know the names of some ATSF lines in Texas, I can Google them and look for good info.

Holy Cow man! I grew up there! I still live there when I'm not in college (the Cleburne, TX area). I know it like the back of my hand. The Fort Worth Subdivision is what its known as. At least thats the BNSF term for it. I tried my hand at modelling it in TRS04 before 2006 came out, but I need DEMs for the area etc. Plus there are unique buildings along the route that you'd need to model to get it looking just right ;)

I know the answer to that, why didn't you say so!!!!!!!! lol

THANKS ALOT MAN!!!:D :D Guess I'll need to add you to my buddy list!:D Time to google the ATSF First District. And if anyone knows a thing or two about the ATSF First District, I'll be glad to hear it! Crman128, in what time period did you live in Cleburne? I focus on the "good ole days" of ATSF railroading(the early to mid 90s era). I just love the Red/Silver Warbonnet GP60Ms, F45s, SD75Ms, C44-9Ws, B40-8Ws, and C40-8Ws.

Well, I was born in 1987, (which would make me nearly 21) I grew up watching the old nasty looking blue and yellow locomotives rumble down the tracks. My grandfather worked for the yard there during the massive CF7 conversion project. I split my time between Denton and Cleburne now due to college. I guess I was around 9 to 10 years old when orange locomotives began to show up (BNSF). The shops in Cleburne closed in 1988. I can personally tell you that the town to this day still hasn't fully recovered economically, though its getting better.

So you don't really remember the Cleburne Shops that well. What exactly was the old Cleburne shops used for in the early 90s? To my knowledge the building is still there.

Yea, the shops are all still there, some are still used others are just sitting there. The work whistle still goes off at 4pm and 8am when the workers were to come into work. The "yard" area is still used by BNSF as a sort of mini marshalling yard. The Fort Worth and Western Railroad still has an interchange there, as does the BNSF Midlothian Branch. A company called Gunderson Southwest owns the shops and they repaint and rebuild freight cars now. Track maintenance equipment still is housed around there too. There's normally at least two to three locomotives (usually GP 38s) to do some switching.

Back in the day when the Cleburne-Temple Line was the ATSF First District, there was a mainline fuel pad in Temple. But BNSF has mothballed it. ATSF used to have a Temple-San Angelo line too, but no telling what has happened to it. What were the Cleburne shops used for in the early 90s? The early 90s is the time period I plan on modeling the ATSF First District in.

The Early 90s....eh probably what its used for now, small time freight car repair/repainting. I can remember as a kid seeing all the freshly painted blue freight cars everywhere in the yard.

These were the cars that they produced in fairly large amounts
