Another famous icon gets a gritty remake

You know, they made a whole lot more TTTE "movies" than you think.

And did anyone notice my above post?

If you're referring to "The Great Discovery," "Hero of the Rails." or "Misty Island Rescue," then you can stop right there. I refuse to count that straight-to-DVD sludge as legitimate movie material.

Good point. Altho there are technically called movies, you could call them extended TV episodes. And they are sludge. I watched Hero of the Rails. To put it simply, post-Magic Railroad was bad. At that point it became worse. And I stopped caring.

If they release this then HIT needs to rerelease the first Thomas the Tank Engine movie as the Directors Cut. I may not be the biggest fan looking back but all the stuff they cut, that stuff was gold and would have made the movie appealing to younger me and now older me.

Also I saw an issue with the post claiming Thomas was a preschool show, when did that happen? Last I knew it was for everyone with the baseline being Kindergarten or Grade 1.

Just one last note on this but... at least let there be a reference to the first movie. While I wouldn't mind this being fully British version I also would love to see a tiny bit of the American version bleed in. I loved Shining Time Station but.. don't focus on that. Have that all be a background thing quickly referenced then forgot about for the British fans.

Will I give this movie a shot? I'll watch the trailers and then I'll rent it if I see fit. I'm not going to be got this time round when I'm more older and supposably wiser according to my ex teachers.

has anyone noticed that the plot for this movie is nearly identical to the first one? the only things that look like they've changed are the lack of Diesel 10 and Lady... maybe the stations and characters too :p
Yeah, if the dad is named Patch, I might go see this. (refrence to the first, anyone?) It looks good with the animation, yet, the drawback is the talking faces on the locomotives. I grew up with the live action when it required imagination to watch it. I still got the live action VHS and still watch them, and I am 17! lol
