The dude from "9" is directing this. SO MANY CONFLICTING VALUES!

Another TTTE movie?

Cool, I'm in.:udrool:

BTW, that poster is my new desktop background.:D

Matt.

I can see the conflicting values and it is really puzzling. (Thomas but yet a more serious approach to him?!?!?!)

Well, there is a lot of detail on the pic here, unlike with the old Thomas which barley had any. When I mean old I mean the LIVE ACTION and none of this animated nonsense that the children of America is watching now. I still got the good stuff on VHS! Thats my 2 cents on this.

They should have obtained Michael Bay to direct. Can you imagine?

"Hello Percy! KA-BOOM! Fwooosh! ZAP ZAP ZAP! Rata tat tat tat! BA WHAM!

Oh...hello Thomas!":o

If you look at the model in the poster, it appears that they're sticking closer to Thomas' prototype rather than the TV-model.

so THAT's what Thomas looks like in real life.:hehe:

As i understand it, the RWS books were all drawn off the real engines, but when it came time to make the series (at least in the US) they for some reason chose to use Marklin frames for the locomotives, and they had to modify the bodies of the classic engines (E4, Black 5, Peckett, A3, etc.) to fit on the marklin frames. the look stuck, and now, we have bachmann making HO scale models off the TV series models, instead of the real ones (which i would have personally preferred them do...I'm a rivet counter, what can i say?)

Now someone's going to come along and tell me i'm wrong :hehe: hey, this is only as it's been told to me (i've got an ancient Model Railroader article that talks about it).

I never understood one thing about locomotives with this type of piston set up. Is the bar just there to keep the wheels in line or does it actually do something. If its just there to keep them in line then what makes the wheels turn? Im used to seeing american locomotives with the cylinders right out on the side, but that design pictured confuses me

The locomotive's cylinders are between the wheels, usually driving the middle axle. The siderods are there to transfer power to the other axles. It works the same way with American locos, only you can see everything.

Ah ok, thanks for explaining it to me

Woah woah, I see brake shoes, rivets, steam lines, sand lines, injector lines.....are you sure that this is actually Thomas??????

I grew up with Thomas......this looks like a great way to reboot everything!

Think of what Transformers looked like when some of us were kids......and look at it not (ok, well it would have been better without Micheal Bay)

Near real life Thomas gets a thumbs up from me

The article also states that the animators are the same guys that worked on "Lord of the Rings" and "Avatar." That should explain the copious amounts of detail. :p

ugh, gag:eek: what they did to that poor BEDT 0-6-0 is sickening. Thomas or Not, that thing needs to be converted BACK.

has anyone noticed that the plot for this movie is nearly identical to the first one? the only things that look like they've changed are the lack of Diesel 10 and Lady... maybe the stations and characters too :p
