Andi06's AssetX update.

I have also posted this in the AssetX FAQ thread.

With Andi Smith's sudden passing two months ago, a group of us realised that we were at risk of loosing access to the to the vast collection of Trainz assets, scripts and tools developed by Andi over many years. I regret to say that this has already happened with the suspension of Andi's web site.

However all is not lost.

Andi's trainz assets are be subject to copyright law so what happens to them is up to Andi's family.
The assets have all been collated on to one UBS memory device so the family are conscious of the value of the years of effort that Andi put into Trainz.

Because I was the co-developer of AssetX, Andi's family have passed all material to do with it to me. Thus I will be able to update it to keep up with changes in Trainz. It is now a mature product so any future changes will be minor.

With the possible impending closure of Andi's website, and to keep AssetX available to this community I have made it available through Shane Turners's website as for all my Trainz tools. I thank Shane for his continuing support of my (and Andi's) efforts.

I have released the version of it that Andi sent me in the middle of last year. It includes a couple of changes to the scripting system, as well as the additions by me to cover TANE textures. This version is very robust and has been used extensively by me for 6 months.

If you have been experiencing problems with file access for AssetX in Win10, you may overcome them by installing it in C:\PEVSoft. This reduces the need for administrator access and so on.

AssetX version 3.0.2 is released in memory of Andi Smith.

You can get it by clicking on my signature footer below.

Thank you PEV and thank you to Andi Smith's family for allowing this.

It is a great and fitting tribute to Andi06's Trainz contributions and activities throughout the years before his sudden and sad demise.

Rob.

Thanks from all Trainz asset creators, first to Andi for the program, and secondly to you for taking up its on-going management. I'll be using it as early as tomorrow.

Many thanks. This is an invaluable and indispensable tool for making assets made in previous version of Trainz work in T:ANE.

Peter thanks for wonderful things your doing for Andi, he is in a good place, and many of us will miss him.

Onward and upward in 2017.

Brilliant, Peter. Thanks. These tools are indispensable for fixing and updating Trainz assets to suit current standards.
Big thanks to Andi's family too. Appreciated!
