A 5.9 earthquake in Virginia, USA, has shut down most Amtrak service in the Northeast corridor.

EDIT: Amtrak in some areas running, but at 15 MPH due to track inspections.

I slept through one that rattled the water pipes decades ago.

I was weed-a-whackin' .... and din't feel nuttin'.

I was sittin' in a backyard chair relaxin' in the shade when it actually happened ... I guess ?

I have several friends in New Jersey that definitely felt the earthquake. I heard over his scanner the local fire department read they had a 5.8 in the local area.

I hope that the "Amtrack" spelling was just a typo. ;)

I live in Woodbridge Va, about 60 miles from the epicenter...

The whole house shook violently....

Thankfully no damage occured to the house. I had to go to work at the Satellite Uplink Station, took me almost double the time to get there... The roads are almost gridlocked....

I observed a CSX freight on the old mainline in MD.... 15 MPH seems to be the rule. Conductor was riding the front porch on a Gevo looking at the rails, watching for trouble.

Some reports of damage are starting to come in, so far 2 aftershocks have occured.
 
Me & my friend felt it, I was working on the third floor & felt it, people on the 2nd floor thought we were joking. My hus said he just got back to his work. He felt it just before he got out of his car.

It was crazy here in virginia right were it happened. The houses were swaying it was wild. Just had a aftershock of 4.2 here at 8:05 pm it wasn't as bad as the first one.
