AI Trains Stopping at Crossings

dricketts

Trainz Luvr since 2004
I recently downloaded kingstonflyer's "North American Grain Shortline."

AI trains seem to stop on their own at crossings. First time I've ever seen this. Any ideas why?

Thanks...

can you post a screen shot.. do you have a signal box at the crossing,,

I just deleted a train that stopped at a green signal and locked up the traffic, problem was the one behind did the same.
The engine revs up and down and the switch\ lever\points pulses.
This is a junction with a signal box, I thought they were just decoration.
Are they related?

Boredom and Trainz are not related.

Difficult to say what the cause is with the information you supplied. It could be any number of things. Is there a message such as "POINT LEVER MISSING" ? You said the point lever pulsed. I have never seen a point lever pulse. Do you mean the points are constantly changing? If that is the case it would indicate that the AI is unable to navigate a path through the junction. Usually you can get round it by changing the position of the points either in surveyor or driver. Another solution if changing the normal position of the point switches is not possible for operational reasons then placing an invisable signal to reduce the number of point switches between signals will work. Common Reasons for an AI driver stopping are a point motor or lever missing, a track direction marker facing the wrong way, A gap in the track and the one I mentioned. There are ways to fix all these but if there is a message from the driver it would be helpful to know what it is. Awaiting your reply.

ya the pulsating junction switches ive come across are the CNR stands built in....
once a AI train trys to use it it hangs up and all ya hear is the switch switching like a swiss time piece?
I stopped using em on any routes and problem doesnt exist anymore......

You could be right, they are CNR stands, off we go, more work to be done....
