Hi there, two quick questions:
1. I suspect the answer is "No" but is there any way I can somehow export a map of my route as a graphic or something? I know I can bring up the Minimap and printscreen it but the route is very large and complex and zooming out too far hides the railway lines so I'd have to do it in small pieces and stitch them together...a lot of work. It would be very useful for planning future upgrades for my network if I could see the whole thing in one go.
2. I'm having problems with the AI driver. I have a station that some trains go straight through and others stop at and then reverse down a branch line that comes off before the station, the layout is something like this:
_J1__________STATIONPLAT1_______
_J2__________STATIONPLAT2_______
/ /
|X|
Double track working for both main line and branch line, trains always drive on the left-hand track except between the station here and the turnoff for the branch line. There is an 'X' crossover after the points to put the train on the right track controlled by direction markers.
This is fine except for when one of the branch line trains is stopped at the station and a main line train is waiting to go through. The drivers appear to 'fight' over control of the points as the main line train wants them set straight but the branch line train wants to turn off. This means nobody goes anywhere. I have tried changing the points manually by clicking the junction arrow so the branch line train can proceed (leaving the line clear once it has passed) but the mainline train appears to have locked them up as they won't change.
Is there a way of sorting this out? I know this track layout exists in real life as I have seen it (for example at CrossCountry trains at Reading station in the UK or at Fort William in Scotland) but I can't think of how to resolve the problem. In the meantime, I have had to divert the branch line trains via an alternative route.
