AI Auto Pilot

Approach_Medium

Trainz Addict
Hi;
I'm not sure that I like the AI "Auto-Pilot" feature (in TS2009).
I have two trains lined up at a home signal, one right behind the other, and want both trains to proceed along the same route (following signal indication of course).
The signal is currently clear.
I give the first train the 'drive" command by Ctl-RMB and it proceedes past the signal.
The signal changes to stop.

I want to give the second the drive command before waiting for the signal to change, but when I do, the train waits a few seconds, then AI decides to throw the switch and send the train off in a completely different direction.
I understand that AI does this, and I have seen the code in the signal.gs file.

I guess I really have to set up the trains schedules, and destination, maybe using "Drive Via" commands as well.
But for now, what I am doing is testing signals on my route, and just playing around with AI, so I don't want to take the time to set it all up.

Is there a fast way to have one train follow another in AI, other than simply waiting until the home signal displays an approach (or other non-stop indication) before giving the second train the drive command?

Thanks

If you try putting in more signals closer together? But a Drive Via Trackmark command would help in this problem, if you put the list of commands as 'Wait for -- minutes/seconds' (or even 'Wait for Minute' or 'Wait for Trigger') then Drive Via where ever and it should work fine!:) (Or so we hope)

More signals aren't an option, since I am building a prototype line.
The Wait For and using triggers sounds like the best answer.
I could set the trigger far enough ahead so that the second train isn't running under approach signals all the way up the line.

Thanks
