AI and Unload - Ianz Trainz Ore Dock

Hello All

I can't figure this one out - and have done numerous searches - I think I've done my homework??

I'm trying to get the Ianz Trainz ore dock to work with AI - both the ore loading wharf and the track unloading dock. I have the Edmund Fitz lined up properly with the midsection as outline on the Ianz Trainz website. I have both the ore carrier and consist moving at 5 km/hour to a trackmark that will navigate each to the appropriate place. Can't get either to work. If I run them manually everything works fine?????? Following the Wiki I tried navigating them to the trackmark, shutting down the locos, waiting 5 seconds, then restarting, still nothing????????

Frustrating!!!!!! I know there has to be a simple solution.

Hi Tariacuri, only just noticed this post.

I have just tested the model in TS2009, they work for me, giving a navigate to command and then the unload command for the Ed Fitz.

You are using the Ore Dock Loader Large model for the ore loader? This is the one designed to work with the larger ships. It should also work with the Iron Duke ship model.

The small version is for the barges.

Hey, thanks for the reply, I'll give that a try. I was using a navigate to trackmark, I think I then tried an unload command. I was assuming that if the boat went by the dock slow enough it would take command and load??

I am using the large dock, and 2010

And . . . thanks again for making all of the amazing content - it is much appreciated by me.

No, the ships are a stopped unload because of the animations. You have to allow the ship to open the hatches.

Of course there is no way to accurately stop a ship exactly where you want it to, so the loaders align with the hatches, the best you can do is place 5 or 10 kph invisible speed signs to slow it early enough.

Well , after much experimentation, and many, many iterations here is where I'm at. The boat does indeed function well if you use the navigate to, and load command. What I was attempting to do was have a tug couple to the ore carrier, pull it into the dock, load, tug pushes the Laker out, decouples, and both return to original positions to begin the cycle again.

I don't think it's possible to have the laker dock while it is coupled, or if it move over and then back across the dock coupled.

The ships will operate correctly and load from the oredock, with a tug boat.

This is the tugboat CC Campbell and the John Ericsson loading.

Wow!!!!!!!!! Ian, I have to have that Whaleback - see my other post, I was going to teach myself how to use Blender and make one. Do you have any other early Great Lakes vessels? How can I get the Ericsson. It looks so amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, this is what I'm doing, not sure what's wrong. Fitz moves to trackmark ahead of loader, driver moves to tug - tug has no driver, couples with Fitz, moves to loader, won't load. AHHHH - not sure if I tried this combo with the navigate to and load commands. Back to the drawing board tonight.

I have to have that Whaleback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
