After a year -BRAGGING ALERT!

Coconut God
I received my first copy of Trainz from Phil a year ago, prior to that I had tried a couple of Trainz demos but didn't see any improvements over MSTS. Then I tried another trainsim (can't mention the name or all the fanboys will have a hissy fit) from October 2007 to May 2010. So what have I done in a year? I'm primarily a route builder, but Phil already did the PO&N for Trainz, no point doing that again. The need I saw was for repaints, everyone is driving UP, ATSF, and Chinese rail colors around on PO&N, HarborMaster, and IndustRail. So I got busy.

Worst trouble I'm having now is trying to remember what I already uploaded and what's still in the paint shop, some of these are works in progress but I'll be hanged if I can remember which ones. :hehe: The PO&N Trainmaster and SD9 are on the back burner at the moment, still trying to sort out numbering problems.

I uploaded the first MSTS PO&N in July 2001, a month after getting MSTS, uploaded the first PO&N for the most wonderful trainsim in existence (maybe that will make the weenies quit crying) a month after that came out.
I AM a route developer, even tho I haven't uploaded a Trainz route after a year. :o

Thanks for this Snipe. Green & Yellow!!! I remember this back in MSTS days. I too was with the program from day 1 and I always loved the original PO&N.

Can't wait for some Cat/Dog up in here!!! :p

All Hail the Holy CatDog!

Can I get an "AMEN!" from the choir?

Well, I just took a look and sorted them out, there is quite a bit of CatDog already in the DLS, altho some of it needs to be updated to work in TS12. Some of the early stuff I did was paint shed skins in TRS2004, tinkered with them til they worked in TS2010 without needing compatibility mode, but TS12 don't like them. :hehe:

All available on the DLS if you look for them (hint, username sniper297);

Six RS3s and 3 S4s;

Nine freight cars and 3 each high hood and chop nose GP9s;

3 RS11s, 3 teakettles, 2 A and 1 B Jointed Rail F7s. That reminds me, I keep forgetting to ask Justin about the two dependencies that aren't on the DLS for those, gotta update them for TS12 and they can't be used in multiplayer (assuming multiplayer actually does work for anyone who wasn't a developer or beta tester) unless all the dependencies are available on the DLS.

WIP stuff that never made it to the DLS for one reason or another;

Little coal hopper is the newest, no problems with that other than it's not finished yet. C36 problem is obvious, trucks are all cattywampus, the rest need work on stuff like cabviews and some of the engine specs won't work with Raildriver. That's the primary reason I only did the C-41 so far, most steam engine specs do not work at all with Raildriver, the ones that do usually lack a working speedometer so the LED speed display on the Raildriver console don't work. I'll get some of those up eventually, Trainmaster and SD9 are only having trouble with automatic numbers, everything else works.

I thought I got the cab working on the AC4400CW. Do I need to do more work?

And I can supply a RD-compatible engine spec, I think.

Nobody home, leave a message at the tone

Sent you a PM, that reverser lever still don't animate for some reason. Lessee what else we got;

"I need to find some superglue, gravity broke my jaw"

Real men never ever use superglue, the accepted method of re-attaching busted body parts is hot iron rivets. :cool:

"Faaar to colorful for my liking"

So take the shine off, coat them with superglue. :hehe:

Seriously, which ones? I'm more of a technician than an artist, no real taste for colors. Others have yelled about the Chicago Metro color scheme being - well, something, maybe it clashes with the curtains. I haven't hammered out any kind of standard procedure yet, but in general when I upload 3 to 6 varieties of the same skin, the highest numbers and letter A for the ones with auto numbers are usually unweathered clean shiny fresh out of the paint shop. That's primarily for anyone who wants to clone and weather my repaint themselves (permission granted, that's why I usually include the unweathered ones), the lower numbers and letters B-C-D generally get progressively more greasy dirty oily rusty.

Well, that's old business, on to new business, finally got all the kinks out of that old SD9, cabviews are in the DLS and four each PO&N and IndustRail should be up by tomorrow.

Cabviews ain't all that great, but rather than use the generic SD I generally kitbash my own using assorted parts from here and there, along with the actual body mesh from the model. That takes a lot of tinkering, and the interior doesn't look that good, but to me it's better than looking out the back window and seeing that long SD40 hood overlapping the engine or car coupled behind.

Couple of interior cameras, one each side head out window, one forward left catwalk and one after right catwalk.

Left is the loco coupled behind, right is the cabview mesh.
