Hi,
I am cloning the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad starting on the South side of Chicago and ending ????? In five months I have laid track, roads, buildings and textures North to the Wisconsin State Line. I'm using MapQuest and Google Earth to guide me.
My question relates to the width (East/West) distance I need to detail. I have averaged 2 boards wide and centered the track as much as possible. I have used backgrounds along the edges but I'm not thrilled with the results.
Is there some rule or guideline to follow governing detail infrastructure layout width? Of coarse, going up the gut of a major city gives me endless variations of Industrial, Skyscrapers, Apartment Complexes, Residential and Comercial on both sides and I'm not sure what to do.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Tom
