Just call my Captain Rude
What would you do if this happend to you ??
Took my Acer laptop back to the reseller to be serviced under warranty as it kept shutting down all the time, when it went into service it had 2X160GB the first split into to 2X80 GB partitions and the second one as the full 160GB
The company rang and said they were going to reformat the boot drive as they felt it was faulty and than I had to pay a fee for them to back up my data, would have backed it up myself but the Computers failed to be able to run for more that 20 minutes with out shutting done and there fore unable to be backed up was one of the faults it was sent in with.
They other option was to pay an extra $279 this was for them to replace the old 180GB drive with a 500GB drive and then put the old drive in a external caddy and also preserving my data. I could have not paid the fee had them just replace the 180GB drive and lost all my data.
Low and behold the fault was not the drive and after it was replaced and the factory image installed the computer still crashed and then had to be sent back to Acer head office to have the mother board replaced, this laptop in now on its third motherboard in under 18 months. The original one was replaced last November when it caught fire.
Picked up the laptop today and it seems too run ok until I went into my computer and then noticed that now had only 2 drive partitions not 3. The whole second HDD is missing, not even detecting in bios. It seems they have ripped out both drives and replace with the one 500GB drive.
Yes ok I have the all the data as they gave me on the boot 160GB but the whole second drive is just not there and neither is all its data.
