Add your Paint Shed Problem Here...Add your Problem Here.

Since there are so many threads popping up about problems with Paint Shed, I though I would make a thread, which I hope will be stickied, for the problems with paint shed. The idea is, post your problem with paint shed, and someone will answer your problem. Very Simple.

Here is a better idea. Search the forum to see if the answer is already there before creating another thread asking the same question.

William

Ah... see you do not get the idea. The idea is to prevent a further waste of space. Ex. Someone has a paintshed problem {quite common} so they list it here, someone can reply on one thread.

I have deleted my post.

My reply was not intended to be offensive, or to be a nay sayer, but simply a comment on what Illinoiscental said in the quote above.

Illinoiscentral, please accept my apology, and I ask the Trainz Community to also accept my apology.

Thanks to all.

Have fun,

Do any of you realize I'm juts trying to be helpful? I guess not, you know what forget it. I see I'm just an idiot on these forums, I'm actually considering leaving.

Don't leave! You have a lot of good thoughts and posts. It's the usual nay sayers who ruin things for everyone.

To be honest, I hated Paint Shed after I tried it. It's easier to reskin objects than it is to use PS.

Thanks JCitron. I just get tired of negative comments all the time! I believe the forums were designed for help. I try to help as much as I can and people seems to just want to post negative comments.

I don't think I made a negative comment. I pointed out that it is better to encourage users to search the forum first before asking the same question that has already been asked and answered many times. Many old timers like me often go to great lengths to respond to a questions here in these forums although I do think that support questions belong in the support forums rather than here in the general forum.

If you are sincere in your desire to help others perhaps you should cut and paste the questions and answers from other threads about paintshed into this thread. That would merit a sticky note and the thanks of many newbies.

William

How do you cut and paste?
As said by Iced8383 he means copy and paste from other threads questions and answers to problems, in this case with Paint Shed.

Have a look at this thread below, this was created in a similar way to help others. I even contributed to the thread with a way of saving information from TRS2004.

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=5454

This may take you a little time to put together, but as you find questions and answers you can edit your original post with them. Do not forget though to credit the person asking the question and those providing the answer/solution.

Hope this helps,

Craig

...trying to get yur sticky on....

 ...you know, you can ask such productive questions to me anytime via PM...

The procedure for cut/copy/paste is located in your Windows Help Folders.

You know, I dreamed last night I visited your parents house to help you with PaintShed...I know that sounds creepy since I haven't met you!

However I'm totally content( & only available) by PM for training on PaintShed & have the content link available for view under my banner....all you have to do is ask by topic...or use the Auran Forum Search function button.

To make the content available, I had to teach myself using tutorials on:
  • PaintShed
  • mspaint
  • color capture using mspaint "eyedropper" tool
  • converting .tga pics to .bmp & back
  • using .gif, .jpg, .bmp, .tga, .png pictures to create logos
  • resizing & editing logos in mspaint
  • importing files into PaintShed for the use of the "weathering" effects in PaintShed
  • naming, saving, customizing content in the config.txt file
  • creating screenshots for use in the content package & on the Auran Forums
  • packaging in Content Dispatcher to the compressed proprietary .cdp file
  • uploading to the Download Station
  • creating a ImageShack account for Web-hosting of pics.
  • creating a title pertinent to the content for the thread
  • using a spell-checker for editing misspelled words...
  • writing a brief text for description & third party thank-you
  • then only after the content appeared on the DLS, I posted a new thread...
I started it all with PaintShed...& nobody played keyboards...

Paintshed is not included with TS2009 but assets created with Paintshed included with earlier versions will work in TS2009.

Thats quite alright. I guess I overreacted anyway. Hopefully this thread will be a helpful, one although it seems paintshed is full of stupid little bugs...
Cheers, IC

Thanks guys.

Another question. How or what do you use to repaint or make wordings on Things. If PS is not present on this trs9?

Paintshed has not been updated since TRS2004 and Auran has declared it dead with no plans to ever update it. Hence the reason it is not included with TS2009. While Paintshed seems easy it was really rather hard to more than average results from it. Re-skinning is really not that hard and produces much better results.

Here are some very good tutorials on re-skinning:
