A-Train 8 is a strategy game not related to Trainz. It is the latest in a series from Japanese developer Artdink. Their last "western" release was AIV Networks back in 1995, since then and until the release of "8" their PC releases have been confined to the Japanese market.

It's a reasonable gane but not as intuitive as the likes of Railroad Tycoon or Transport Tycoon.Open TTD etc.

I had AIV Global Evolution on PSone, it really was A-Train 2 I think. One of the things about it was, you could go into 3d mode and ride a train around your creation.

Actually was a fun game, I used to play it for hours. Once you got the hang of making money, and populating the regions, it really was fun.

I saw one of the later releases of A-Train and I really didn't think much of it.
