A Steam Train Passes in Trainz? with other old railway videos

Hi i've had this idea for a while but i cannot do it alone, i've wanted to create the famous film, A Steam Train Passes inside of Trainz, crazy as it seems it might be a good idea. As the film is only 20 minutes but covers a large area from Sydney to the Central West, it would take time and effort so i was wondering if i could get support from other members in the Trainz community, as in layout building content creators, video effects and editors anyone with a skill inside of trainz or outside that involves video please reply to this thread if you are interested and if we can get this done i'll throw it up on Youtube with everyone who helped out in the credits, so please fell free to reply if interested please leave the thing you would like to do. If you have a queston about this project reply below, if you just want to say "awww great idea mate" or whatever something like that, thats fine.
with this project, it might draw even more people into trainz and give Auran and N3v some support for creating such an epic game.

EDIT: musical people are also welcome any sort of skill you can think of that might help achieve this project reply below because i might have to get a remix of the music to avoid copyright issues. i'll tweet the youtube creators see what they have to say

This sounds like something I can sink my teeth into. But I need more detail. Sydney, AU? What film are you trying to recreate? Etc. And also when are you planning on doing this because my schedule is absolutely BOOKED!
 
i will do this once i have enough members and when they have agreed to do it, The film is called A Steam Train Passes
ill try and find all the locations it is at. Ok and if you do want to help out what would you like to do?
 
I could do anything and everything you require me to do, except making the loco. I'm good at film making. I can build different dioramas for scenes. Maybe im underestimating the scale of the project but I might be the right guy for the job. And I would be happy to do it.
 
Well, if it's the film I'm thinking of the star was famous NSWGR C38 class Pacific 3801, of which there are several versions of the green streamliner I believe are available in Trainz on the DLS - an old version for 04 by ad602000 (KUID2:63971:3801:2), a slightly later version still for 04 released under the 'Victrainz' name ( KUID2:1854:3801:1), and a latest version for TS09/2010 made by Davido I believe but released with permission by NSWGR46class (KUID:73150:100026).

As for routes, any of the NSW themed routes available on the DLS will suffice, such as the Wadalbavale Line. Anyway, this is a really interesting idea. Good luck with it! :D
 
It is 3801. I looked the train up on Wikipedia this morning and 3801 was restored and has a green paint scheme.
 
well currently 3801 and her sister locomotive 3830 are out of service but will have their new boiler next febuary, as for the engines i have davidos most recent 38s and i kinda want the route look mostly like the film
 
thats fine, glad you like it, its a classic aussie steam locomotive film, i recommend you try and find somewhere to buy it on dvd
 
ok basically, i need someone to create a route that looks as close as possible to the places in the film, then who ever makes it or if many people help then one of them posts a link to it here, I take tracking and static cameras and place them near all the places on the layout where they would have to go then, i film it, get someone who can to remix the music if they can if not thats fine, then hand over the video to someone who has great video editing skills and get them to add the credits at the end of the video and other stuff, then they give it back to me i upload it to youtube and post the link here and also put credits in the description box then i will tweet auran or N3v so they can have a look. with the audio im not sure wether to take the whole audio clip of the film and put it over it or just use the audio from the game. reply what you think is the best way to go about this
 
Wow..Thanks a stack for sharing this movie. It is excellent and covers every aspect that an enthusiast likes to relive - I did my time on steam and worked as a steam fitter in the 60's and 70's.

That was a great video. The countryside is typical of that seen in south eastern and southern Australia. I'm guessing the cutting (with all the smoke!) is part of getting through the Blue Mountains. Without knowing the history of the doco, I guess they were trying to recreate Australian rail travel of the late 1940's or early 50's. I did chuckle over the two diggers (soldiers) leaving their almost full middies of beer in the pub to catch the train.

Apart from Central Station (in Sydney), the only station name I saw was Polona which is odd because, AFAIK there is no such town in New South Wales.

The letters NFSA probably stand for the National Film and Sound Archives.
 
They were not try to recreate the 40s-50s that was in fact when it was made

ok to anyone who wants to help with the route use the hawksbury river bridge object on the DLS ill try and find the kuid
