Hello;

The driver command selection table includes a key, which allows you to startup or shut down the locomotive. Oddly, this applies only to one type of locomotive, made by PhilC.

Is that ability a part of engine specs, or what? Why is this function limited to just one type of engine. What if I want to build a route that uses a different company, like Santa Fe.

Why did Auran limit this to just one type of engine?

Is there way to add that function to other models?

I want to build a branch line where the engine is stored in a barn until it is needed to do its work. In the real world, they don't leave the engines running when not in use. It wastes fuel and costs money!

Puzzled

Hello,

Actually this ability is the product of scripting. Auran did not create the script (or at least I do not believe they did). I am certain that PhilC created the script and incorporated it into his locomotives - which I believe are payware. When Auran released 2009, they did include the ability for this feature. Look at the locomotive (I think it is the SD40 0r SD70(?) but do not remember - I almost never run diesel) in CMP - open for edit and you should find details in the config.txt and a script or two in the folder. You should be able to modify other locomotives to use the method for your own use.

Have Fun
