A few ?'s here

Always a WIP
Howdie all..

I have read alot, printed ( I have killed a small rain forest with the tomb of information) alot but there are times when one needs advice or input...
So here goes...

1)Resolution: I've been playing with a few aspects of the game since getting it a couple of months back...I have noticed that when editing paints that the resolution of these pics are 1024/256...

Is it possible to enhance the image to say 2048/512 in order to get a more defined image in game?

2) Bogeys: I dont care for the bogeys the game has placed for this engine...see back ground tanker for bogeys added which I added, instead of the auran bogeys (which looked like a button), from rolling stock to make them look decent.

When trying to add a <kuid:-bla bla> intead of 100871 the engine ( in the fore ground ) doesn't show in game (which Im sure of the missing dependancies on some of the rolling stock I've downloaded) have resulted in the engine/coach/whatever showing up in surveyor, but when trying to apply doesn't show...
Im guessing the files can be manipulated/refered to/linked to whatever sound/bogeys you want, as long as in game, without probs.
3) FCT: When I bought the game of course I got a FCT for a certain time but now it's gone...I have found within that month that there was a few items that were great eye candy..but found this out too late as I had a get em all attitude (in order to play)...found out later this wasn't really needed..
How long does it take once buying a years sub to get the FCT back?
And do I need that FCT inorder to upload anything I have modded/made in order for others to enjoy?

Thanks in advance...

I paid for a full 12 months FCT 2 weeks ago via Visa Card and activated it after receiving my email receipt within about 10 minutes. I believe this is procedure is automated as it had been a weekend when I updated my FTC.

For question number one; Increasing the size does increase teh resoltion ont he train, and would give you a better picture; asuming you build the image in that size. (ie; if you build the image at 256x256, and then just resize it to 512x512 you have achieved nothing.)

#2: for me to answer this I'd like to know what version of Trainz you are using. If you use TRS or TC I'll put some instructions below.

in CMP find the bogeys (trucks) you wish to put on the loco/car and jot down the name of them. then go find the loco/car. right click go to "edit" then "edit in Content Creator Plus" after waiting a bit for CCP to load go to the KUID table and click on the "..." button next to the original bogeys in the pop-up that pops up select the new bogeys. do this again under the bogey sections in CCP as well.

The way I did the tanker was to open in Explorer and edit the text in the config file...does this way your speaking of make it easier?
Thank You

You can also do it that way. Personally I like doing it in CCP because it decreases the chance of error.

Careful with the resolution as taking a pic from 1024x256 to 2048x512 is increasing the filesize four times, so if the original is 256k then the larger will be 1meg.

Now that I have done both ways I do prefer the CCP (TY for the suggestion)...less worrysome as your correct one letter off and your looking for errors..found that with editing website as well...
Ty Peter..beers coming

Correct...but the detail level you get makes the eye candy more pleasing...
And as it's for my own pleasure Ill sacrifice some space on my HD...here's where she is at at the moment...its a WIP

Cheers right back at cha Dave....:)
